The Livio Connect API offers two-way communication between mobile apps and hardware products. Livio’s common sense solution is discrete, and is suitable for virtually any app or app-connected hardware device. Livio Connect is fail-safe for wireless communication, with checksums, sequential packet numbering, and other built-in validation tools.
Livio Connect libraries are already integrated into the RoadTunes™ SDK and are available to order directly through CSR. Currently, Livio Connect is an available CSR part number for RoadTunes™ on the CSR BC05 chipset. Support is also available for Synergy on the BC06 chipset. For more information go to www.csr.com
The emulator takes the place of real hardware products in tests with apps using the Livio Connect API. Using Bluetooth, the emulator uses the Livio Connect protocol to connect with apps and provides a visual way to see the results of the app’s commands. The protocol also allows the app to send commands back, testing the two-way operation. Hardware emulators are available for Mac, Windows, Linux, Android tablets, and iPad.
Livio engineers provide support for hardware developers, including reference code for easy Livio Connect integration. Though most customers choose to add Livio Connect through available libraries, Livio supports developers by providing portable reference code written in the C programming language.
Livio Connect’s iOS Library is a static compiled library for Objective C that helps iOS developers easily create packets that adhere to Livio Connect’s specs and behavior. Yup…we still support Blackberry!
We call the Livio Connect general purpose/authentication server the WOPR. The WOPR enables hardware and app partners to whitelist and blacklist what connects to their products. The WOPR passes required unlock keys to apps, allowing them to communicate securely with enabled hardware devices though Livio Connect. Additionally, the WOPR offers app partners directory services, and optional advertising through TargetSpot.
Livio provides software testing tools that are used to inspect data going between the mobile phone and the sample hardware. It allows engineers to test and develop Livio Connected products without the need to drive a car into your office, or have every app validated individually. Our testing tools are available for Mac, PC, Android, iPhone, Android Tablets and iPads.
Livio Connect offers a firmware update transfer feature which allows hardware manufacturers to provide over-the-air updates. Livio offers a white labeled application which downloads your firmware update from a secure server, then transfers the update from your mobile phone through bluetooth, USB, or WiFi into your hardware device.
